Home Remedies That Help Combat Acne

If you suffer from acne, you have more than likely tried some of the store bought acne products. You may have noticed these may not  work, make the problem worse, or cause other problems like itchiness or dry skin. This is due to the fact that most of these products contain alcohol and harsh chemicals. There is a cheaper and more effective way for you to treat your acne that won't bring the added risk of other issues. Try the home remedies in this article to get rid of acne and keep it away:

Hot water: Using hot water for acne is cheap, simple and effective. Hot water will steam out impurities, cleaning your pores and helping with acne. There are two methods you can use to fight acne with hot water. First, you can boil a pot of water and pour it into a bowl. Put a towel over your head and lean over the bowl. This will steam your face and help. Next, you can take a clean washrag and get it as hot as you can stand it. Cover your face with it until the washrag cools, get it hot again and repeat the process a few times. You should use the water a few times a day to see good results.

Oatmeal: Oatmeal is very effective in fighting acne and it will also help to keep your skin moist. Oatmeal works by removing oils and impurities from the surface of your skin which helps to keep them from making their way in your pores and causing acne. To use oatmeal to fight acne, you want to mix water with oatmeal until it makes a paste. Put it on your face and leave it on until it dries. Once it's dry, remove it with a warm washcloth.

Apple cider vinegar: Apple cider vinegar is another good option for clearing up acne. It will remove impurities and absorb oils on your skin to help promote a clear complexion. To use it on your acne, you want to mix it with three parts water and rub it into your skin after you have washed your face with your normal face wash.  Don't worry about rinsing the solution off.

Aloe vera: Most people know aloe vera will help with sunburns and other skin irritations, but it is also great for helping with acne. Aloe vera has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. This means it will clean your skin and help with swelling. If you have a plant, you can break off a piece and rub it on your face after washing with your regular face wash. If no plant is available, you can purchase aloe vera gel and apply it to your face.
